70mai Rearview Dash Cam S500
The procedure for this model is the same as those for others available on the market:
1. Set the connector near the rearview mirror and route the power cable inside the vehicle. This device comes with a standard cigarette lighter plug power supply cable and supports the optional 70mai parking surveillance cable (Model number: 70mai Hardwire Kit UP02) as the power source.
2. It is recommended that the vehicle rear camera be installed above the license plate frame. Ensure that the reverse gear detection cable is properly connected to the reverse light signal cable of the vehicle when installing the rear camera. Set up the signal cable and route the connector near the internal rearview mirror of the vehicle.
3. Bind the device to the vehicle's built-in internal rearview mirror, and then connect the power cable and signal cable of the rear camera.
4. Turn on the device by starting the vehicle. After reading the beginner's guide, observe the real-time screen display. In addition to the pitch angle of the front camera and the rear camera, you can also make adjustments to the angle and directions of the device. Using the touch screen, you can adjust the position of the mirror image to obtain the best view.
Note! Installation of the rearview mirror involves the disassembly of the car If you are not experienced with hands-on installation, please seek assistance from a professional at an automotive repair and maintenance store to prevent potential damage to your vehicle.
The built-in front camera of this rearview mirror can be pulled to the left (the direction of pulling described here is under the condition that the mirror is facing you), so as to resolve the issue of conflicting position with the original vehicle's interior rearview mirror. In addition, the orientation of the built-in front camera can be manually adjusted for the best recording view in your vehicle.
No, it is not necessary. This rearview mirror is bound to the original interior rearview mirror of the vehicle.
Note: The official installation of this rearview mirror does not support the use of an alternative bracket after removing the original interior rearview mirror of the vehicle. If the original interior rearview mirror bracket is loose, and the rearview mirror often droops when installed in the bundle mounting method, you may opt for a third-party interior rearview mirror replacement bracket that is suitable for your vehicle. You may then remove the interior rearview mirror before installing this rearview mirror.
If you have a third-party interior rearview mirror replacement bracket that fits your vehicle, you may replace the interior rearview mirror with this model after removing it from the vehicle. Apart from providing a live feed from the rear camera, this device can also function as an optical interior rearview mirror when the screen is turned off.
In such situations, we do not recommend displaying the real-time rear view on the mirror screen. Instead, you may press the power button to put the device in standby mode and observe the rear of the vehicle through the optical mirror. It is also advisable to clean the rear camera promptly. (we recommend using wet wipes to gently wipe the dirt off, then dry it with lens wipes/a soft cloth/soft tissue paper).
The best position for installing the rear camera of the rearview mirror is above the license plate frame at the rear of the vehicle, near the license plate light, as centralized as possible. We do not recommend installing the rear camera inside the rear windshield, as the rear view may be blocked by dirt on the lens such as mud, dust, etc. or by dark-colored screen protectors, which will seriously affect the operation of the camera.
Note: The data cable of the rear camera can usually be inserted into the vehicle through a gap in the vehicle's body, such as a screw hole. For optimal results, it is crucial to have this installation performed by a professional specializing in automobile maintenance for optimal results.
The standard rear camera of this rearview mirror possesses an IPX7 level of waterproof capability. To prevent water ingress damage, avoid using a high-pressure water jet directly on the camera for extended periods. The rear camera provides effective protection against rainstorms and road splashes during driving, allowing worry-free usage on rainy days.
This rearview mirror has a fully laminated touch screen and supports multi-touch. You can tap the touch screen directly with your finger and complete the operations according to the interface displayed on the screen. Except for the power button, this model does not provide other physical buttons.
In balancing functional requirements, cost, and power consumption, the rearview mirror differs from mainstream smartphones in the following aspects:
- The master control chip lacks a powerful graphics processing unit (GPU) found in mainstream smartphones. Consequently, it is unable to accelerate touch screen animations in the same manner as mobile phones.
- The mirror screen does not support ultra-high refresh rates.
- The firmware system is embedded in the dash cam as well.
Therefore, the touch screen experience offered by the rearview mirror is not as smooth as mainstream smartphones with iOS/Android systems that are equipped with powerful GPUs, high refresh rate screens, and specially optimized touch screen feedback animations.
This rearview mirror supports voice control using fixed command words.- When the language setting on the device side is Traditional Chinese, commands can be given in Mandarin Chinese.
Available commands:
- When the language on the device side is set to another language, commands can be given in English.
Available commands:
- take photo (to take a photo)
- Lock the video (initiate the recording of an emergency video)
- Turn on the screen (mirror screen lights up and displays content)
- Turn off the screen (mirror screen goes off and no content is displayed)
- show front camera (the screen display mode is switched to display the live feed from the built-in front camera in single-channel display mode)
- show rear camera (the screen display mode is switched to display the live feed from the rear camera in single-channel display mode)
A voice control interface is embedded in the firmware of this rearview mirror model, which supports fixed command words. Since the voice control engine is designed to accommodate fixed command words, an increased number of command words increases the risk of false activation and recognition errors. Therefore, it is important to offer the most commonly used shortcut operational functions in order to ensure the effectiveness of voice recognition.
Possible reasons include:
1. Voice control has not been activated. There is a voice control function toggle in the settings section. Turn it on and then try to use the voice control function.
2. Voice control is available only when the device is switched on for recording (normal continuous video/emergency video) or when it is switched on to display only the real-time feed (no memory card inserted or the memory card cannot be used), and it is not connected to a mobile phone. If the device is undergoing an OTA upgrade, in Parking Surveillance Mode, or switched off, it cannot respond to voice control commands.
As long as the rearview mirror is properly installed, it will automatically shift into Reverse Assist mode when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear.
The default setting of the guide lines in the real-time screen in Reverse Assist Mode is adapted to popular domestic passenger car models. You may drive your vehicle to a familiar parking space with marked lines, then tap the Adjust button on the screen in Reverse Assist Mode to begin guide line adjustment. Drag the guide line to adjust its height and width, and slowly back up into the parking space to see if the guide line is suitable for your vehicle. You may adjust the guide line repeatedly until you obtain the most suitable setting.
This rearview mirror model uses a built-in power supply with a mega capacity, but its capacity is limited and serves to safeguard video footage undergoing recording from being damaged in the event of an accidental power outage. This device does not support usage without external power supply.
This rearview mirror has a supercapacitor built-in power supply, which can support the device when the external power supply is disconnected. The recorded content of the video clips can be saved on the card to prevent damage.
Compared to lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors have greater resistance to extreme temperature environments and a longer expected service life.
The advantages of this rearview mirror compared to the optical interior rearview mirror that comes with the car include:
1. The rearview mirror has a wide range of vision, and its front and rear camera can provide good coverage of all three lanes of traffic without being obscured by objects in the car.
2.With the rear camera installed outside the vehicle, the images will be clear and the effects of rain and mud on the rear windshield will be eliminated.
3.It automatically adapts to the ambient light for optimized imaging, with the brightness of the mirror screen automatically adjusted according to the image on the screen scene. This allows for excellent viewing and moderate brightness imaging in strong sunny weather, cloudy and rainy days, and at night. This is extremely favorable for viewing the rear of the vehicle.
4.Comes with dual-channel recording dash cam and reverse assist function;
5.The optical mirror is wide and provides excellent reflectivity, so even if you choose to turn off the mirror screen and put it to hibernation mode, you can still get a better viewing angle than the original interior rearview mirror that comes with the car.
No. The rearview mirror has a wide range of vision, with both the front and rear cameras covering all three lanes of traffic well. They are not obstructed by any objects inside the car, thus providing a clear advantage over the original internal rearview mirrors that come with the car.
When the device is turned off or after the screen is off, wipe it using a dry wipe or a soft fabric such as a lens cloth or screen cleaning cloth. Do not use abrasive sandpaper, steel wire balls, hard sponges, brushes and other harsh cleaning tools or any kind of organic solvents, including any concentration of alcohol, to wipe the lens.
As a screen device installed in the center of the front windshield above the driver's cabin, this rearview mirror takes into account the difference between left-hand drive and right-hand drive cars. You may select either left-hand drive or right-hand drive mode during the beginner guidance process when the device is turned on for the first time after installation. Alternatively, you may change this setting in the 'Settings - System Settings - Mirror Mode' option on the device. Operating interface elements on the device will be rearranged based on your settings to better match left-hand drive/right-hand drive needs.
This model of rearview mirror supports the following display modes to display the real-time feed captured by the camera on the screen:
1. In Single Display Mode, the feed from the rear camera or the built-in front camera can be displayed in full screen (supports switching between rear/front camera).
2. In left/right split-screen display mode, the live feed from the rear camera or the built-in front camera can be displayed on the left side of the mirror screen respectively (supports left/right screen swapping).
3. In picture-in-picture display mode, the live screen of one camera is displayed on the main screen and the sub-screen respectively (the main screen and the sub-screen can be switched to the rear/front camera display).
To switch between the above display modes, you may tap on the touch screen to bring up the toolbar, which provides a command icon for switching between display modes, indicating the next available display mode that can be switched to by tapping on the command icon.
When the above toolbar appears, you may tap the command icon on the screen to adjust the image from the rear/front camera in the current display mode.
This model of rearview mirror can display the live camera feed with 2592 x 1944 resolution (4:3 original ratio) for the front camera, while that of the rear camera can be scaled to 1920 × 1080 resolution (16:9 original ratio) to fit the mirror display area.
As the original image is displayed, it is horizontally adapted and vertically cropped to fit the mirror screen or the picture-in-picture sub-screen. In single-display mode and picture-in-picture display mode, you can adjust the vertical cropping position of the picture by scrolling up and down. In split-screen display mode, both the front and rear real-time images are displayed with adaptive frame width (with slight vertical cropping).
The rearview mirror determines ambient brightness based on real-time image brightness captured by the built-in front camera and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly. Due to the short delay it takes for this logic to execute (about 1 second), the automatic brightness adjustment action may lag slightly behind changes in external brightness.
The rearview mirror serves primarily as a replacement for the vehicle's original optical rearview mirror, allowing the driver to see what's behind the vehicle in real time. It is therefore extremely important to have a display that performs in real-time. In contrast to smartphone screens, which employ animated transitions to adjust the brightness, the screen's brightness adjusts directly after the brightness outside the car changes. This ensures that the mirror screen's brightness quickly matches the environmental brightness, providing the driver with a smooth viewing experience as soon as possible.
This model of rearview mirror is primarily designed for displaying real-time footage. Functions such as video recording, audio recording, and taking photos that require the insertion of a storage card are additional features.
The rearview mirror function can be used without inserting a storage card. Alternatively, you can insert a memory card, and the dash cam will automatically start recording when the device is powered on.
In order to quickly return to the real-time image display mode when the rearview mirror is not showing real-time footage, such as when you are in the settings or album, you may click on the 'Home' button on the leftmost side of the screen.
Note: In 'left-hand drive mode,' the 'Home' button will be displayed on the left side, and in 'right-hand drive mode,' it will be displayed on the right.
This model of rearview mirror has been developed based on the mainstream specifications for dash cams. To ensure real-time mirror image quality, the built-in front camera uses a 2592 x 1944 resolution and does not support 1080P low-resolution. Under these settings, the master control's encoding capacity is not capable of supporting 60 fps frame rate.
The rear camera does not offer 60 fps frame rate option as the recording parameters are fixed at 1080P 25 fps.
The built-in front camera on this model of rearview mirror has a fixed resolution of 2592 x 1944 and no option for low-resolution 1080P, so resolution settings are not necessary.
As for the rear camera, its recording parameters are hardware-based and fixed at 1080P 25 fps, without other resolution/frame rate options.
The built-in front camera of this rearview mirror supports HDR with a resolution of 2592 x 1944. Meanwhile, the rear camera supports 1080P HDR.
Both the front and rear cameras of this dash cam have hardware-level HDR capability, which greatly enhances the image quality in situations with strong contrast between light and dark areas.
- Entering and exiting tunnels or underground garages during the daytime on a sunny day
-Headlights shining directly on the license plate of the vehicle at night
- Shadow imaging of objects on the road in areas exposed to strong sunlight.
Due to its hardware-level HDR capability, this model of rearview mirror offers 25 fps, which is optimized to counteract the flicker effect of 50 Hz AC lighting in some countries/regions. The anti-flicker effect works best at 25 fps. Furthermore, the perceived smoothness and motion blur of the video are not solely determined by the frame rate but also by comprehensive tuning. Therefore, to ensure overall image quality and smoothness of the video, rather than aiming for frame rate parameters, device tuning aims to ensure overall image quality and smoothness of the video. From this perspective, 30 fps is not actually better than 25 fps for this device.
Note:- When the front camera is adjusted to counteract the flicker effect of 60 Hz AC lighting, it will record at 30 fps.
- When adjusted to counteract the flicker effect of 55 Hz AC lighting, the front camera records at 27.5 fps, effectively achieving 28 fps.
The rearview mirror can record emergency videos when a collision is detected. The recording lasts for 30 seconds after the collision-triggering event. Emergency video is individually erased on a loop. You may also initiate the recording of an emergency video by using the voice command 'I want to take a video'.
This rearview mirror supports dual-channel recording when the rear camera is connected. The built-in front camera and the external rear camera will record the emergency video when the function is triggered.
This rearview mirror is equipped with a super capacitor as a backup power supply. In the event of an accidental power failure, the super capacitor's power is sufficient to support the device and save the video files. This prevents them from being damaged or corrupted.
While the rearview mirror is displaying real-time images, tapping the screen will bring up the toolbar. You can access the album's main page by tapping the 'Album' icon on the toolbar. You can then tap on any directory icon to access the corresponding album's subdirectory main page. There are two main areas on these main pages: a thumbnail display area and a playback screen area, which displays image records for the most recent date. If you click on a thumbnail in the playback area, you can play the corresponding video segment or photo, and if you click on the date, you can view other recordings on the memory card from different dates.
Zooming in during playback of videos and photos is not available on this model of rearview mirror.
On this model of rearview mirror, you can play videos at 2X/4X/8X speeds by clicking the control buttons on the toolbar in the playback area.
Watermarks applied to video recordings made by this device include date, time, and the 70mai brand logo.- However, the date and timestamp cannot be turned off.- The 70mai logo watermark on the recording can be turned off. Simply select the “settings” tab on the device or on your mobile phone to turn off the watermark.
Note: Watermarks are not displayed on the mirror screen's real-time image of the front camera. Watermarks are only visible in recorded videos and photo images saved on the memory card.
Watermarks on video files cannot be changed once they have been recorded.
In the event that the time watermark on your device is incorrect, you can change the system time in settings. In the 70mai app, select the 'System Settings' group under the 'Device Settings' module to access the device's hotspot. You can then select the 'System Time' setting to synchronize your mobile phone's time with the rearview mirror. On subsequent video recordings, the correct time watermark will appear after the system time of the rearview mirror has been corrected.
The design of this rearview mirror is intended to address such situations, and it is unlikely that the problem of failure to power on due to external power disconnection during OTA will occur. In the event that the device experiences an unexpected power failure or the OTA upgrade package is corrupted during the upgrade process, it will cause the device to crash. When that happens, connect the external power supply and long press the power button for 15 seconds to force the dash cam to restart, after which you can attempt to push the OTA upgrade package again and proceed with the upgrade.
This rearview mirror adopts TF card as the storage medium. It supports TF cards of 32-128 GB capacity, with Class10/U1 or higher read/write speed level.
With this rearview mirror, a 32 GB memory card will enable 2 to 3 hours of recording duration before the first video gets erased. (The exact recording duration may vary depending on specific road conditions. If there are a large number of tree canopies and other detail-rich scenery, the video file size will be slightly larger compared to videos of general road scenes). This is perfectly suited to meet the needs of most car owners for roadside evidential photography and landscape shots.
If you need more storage, you may purchase memory cards with 64/128 GB storage. Compared to 32 GB memory card, the available continuous recording duration and capacity of these cards is doubled or many times more.
Possible reason 1: You may have used a memory card with a storage capacity of 32 GB.
To address issues arising from reason 1, With a 32 GB memory card, there will be 2 to 3 hours of continuous recording before the first video gets erased. (The exact recording duration may vary depending on specific road conditions. If there are a large number of tree canopies and other detail-rich scenery, the video file size will be slightly larger compared to videos of general road scenes). If you need the whole video data, please connect the data cable to the dash cam to connect it to the computer after about 2 hours of continuous video recording. Remove and replace the full TF Card, and insert the TF card into the card reader of your computer to export the video file for backup or download it to the local album.
Possible reason 2: The emergency videos take up too much space.
To address issues arising from reason 2, Emergency videos are erased separately. The dash cam is designed to continuously occupy a fixed percentage of the TF card memory if there are too many emergency videos or parking surveillance videos recorded. Download your desired emergency video clips to your mobile phone or connect your computer to export and back them up from the TF cards. Then, you may continue using the dash cam after deleting all the emergency videos or parking surveillance videos from the dash cam.
(Note: This device supports dual-channel recording, with a front camera with a high resolution of up to 5 million pixels. Thus, it can generate quite a significant amount of video data during recording. For maximum continuous recording duration, it is recommended that TF cards with high capacities be used and audio recording be disabled.)
Adjust the speaker volume level in device settings, which can be set to high/medium/low and off according to your preferences.
You can mute the dash cam's power-on and power-off music in the settings menu.
This model of rearview mirror does not support voice prompts. On the device, audio signals accompanied by on-screen text prompts are used to notify users.
Parking security is one of the supported features of this device, which functions even after the vehicle is turned off. Once the vehicle's engine is turned off, the dash cam will enter the parking security mode according to the settings. You can select any or all of these parking security features individually or simultaneously for comprehensive protection of your vehicle when in parking security mode:
1. Parking Surveillance Triggered by Collision Detection: When the vehicle engine is switched off, the dash cam is in standby mode and video recording will be paused. However, when the built-in G-sensor detects an abnormal vibration of the car (which usually happens when the car is involved in a collision), it triggers the recording of a 30-second-long parking surveillance video and stores it in the parking surveillance video folder of the device album.
2. Time-lapse photography: After enabling the time-lapse photography function, the dash cam will continuously capture images at a sampling frequency of 1 fps after the vehicle engine is switched off, then synthesizes them into a 30-fps video file, i.e. time-lapse video and stores them in the time-lapse video folder in the device's photo album. Time-lapse photography allows for continuous recording of the dash cam's field of view and the recorded images can be replayed 30 times faster than real time. In the case of an accident or unusual event, it can better record the entire process, making for effective evidence.
In parking security mode, the device only responds to the following button operations:
1. Long-press the power button for more than 3 seconds to trigger a shutdown
2. Force the dash cam to restart by long-pressing the power button for more than 15 seconds.(Note: If 'auto power off with continuous inactivity' is not set, please shut the dash cam down using the previous operation (to avoid draining the vehicle's battery).
Note: While in parking security mode, you can record continuous videos in normal recording mode by starting the vehicle. The rearview mirror only responds to the ACC ON signal in parking security mode. In order to send the ACC ON signal to the device, simply start the vehicle.
This occurs when the parking surveillance cable cannot be detected by the device. In such a situation, please proceed with the following troubleshooting:
1. Check whether the parking surveillance cable of the device has been installed and connected correctly. If you have no experience or knowledge about installation, hands-on ability, it is recommended that you visit an automotive repair and maintenance store for professional installation services. For niche models, you are recommended to first contact the 4S dealership store to obtain the vehicle fuse box circuit definition information for installation reference.
2. Check whether the parking surveillance cable, the fuse box, and the rearview mirror are connected properly.
The parking surveillance cable is an accessory of the dash cam/rearview mirror for parking security. It is used for the following functions:
- Drawing power from the battery of the vehicle in order to maintain the constant power supply to the dash cam/rearview mirror after the vehicle engine has been switched off. This allows for the functions of normal operation of parking surveillance and time-lapse photography.
- To prevent the battery from being drained and the car from malfunctioning, the cable cuts off the power supply to the device when the voltage of the battery has decreased to a preset threshold.
This rearview mirror model only supports 70mai parking surveillance cable. You may choose from the following models of 70mai parking surveillance cable that is compatible with this rearview mirror:
- 70mai Hardwire Kit UP02. This model of hardwire kit does not support 4G network connection, so it will not be able to notify you instantly when the recording of parking surveillance video is triggered. Instead, it will remind you to access the recorded parking surveillance video of the rearview mirror in the device album next time you start your vehicle.
This is due to the incorrect wiring of the parking surveillance cable on the vehicle fuse box. This may result in failure to enter parking surveillance mode correctly after the vehicle engine is turned off. In this situation, it is recommended that you consult a 4S dealership or a professional workshop to make sure the circuit cable is not disconnected from the power supply after the engine is turned off.
(Note: Randomly altering the car circuit may lead to serious consequences such as battery failure or even spontaneous combustion of vehicle. Hence, you need to resolve issues with the parking surveillance cable installation and wiring with the help of professionals.)
This issue may occur due to the following reasons:
1. Parking surveillance video is not being recorded and collision detection is not triggered.
2. This may be because the sensitivity of collision detection triggering and parking surveillance has been set to a low level in the device settings. Try to set a higher sensitivity (For models with better chassis damping effect, it is recommended to set a higher sensitivity).
3. When the temperature of the vehicle cockpit becomes too high during hot weather conditions, the device will automatically shuts down. Hence, it will not be able to respond to a collision event to trigger the parking surveillance video after the shutdown. To avoid this problem, you may apply a heat shield film to the windshield screen of your vehicle, and try to avoid parking the vehicle under direct sunlight for long periods of time during the hot season.
4. The power reserve of the car battery is low, causing the battery protection function of the parking surveillance cable to be triggered, thus cutting off the power of the device. You can solve this problem by analyzing the battery condition of your vehicle. If the battery has been used for a long time, please replace it in time. This will trigger the battery protection function of the parking surveillance cable soon after the vehicle is turned off. During such occurrences, you should start the vehicle and drive/let it be idled for more than 30 minutes to ensure that the battery is fully charged. Then, turn off the engine to use the parking surveillance.
5. This is due to incorrect wiring of the parking surveillance cable on the vehicle fuse box. This can cause the dash cam power supply to be cut off some time after the vehicle is turned off, causing the device to shut down. In this situation, it is recommended that you consult a 4S dealership or a professional workshop to make sure the circuit cable is not disconnected from the power supply after the engine is turned off.(Note: Randomly altering the car circuit may lead to serious consequences such as battery failure or even spontaneous combustion of vehicle. Hence, you need to resolve issues with the parking surveillance cable installation and wiring with the help of professionals.)
6. Please note that despite setting the dash cam with the highest collision detection sensitivity, it is possible that the parking surveillance video will not be triggered for some types of collisions, such as: Food delivery drivers riding motorized scooters passing by at low speeds and brushing against parked vehicles with the food container. G-sensors are more sensitive to vibrations caused by heavy objects. If a passing pedestrian or non-motorized vehicle causes damage to a parked vehicle, there is a probability that the parking surveillance recording function will not be triggered if the movement is relatively light or minor.
You may apply any of the following solutions to solve the problem:
1. Turn down the sensitivity setting for collision detection triggering parking surveillance.
2. Configure the collision response time of parking surveillance to 5 minutes after the vehicle has been powered off.
This issue may occur due to the following reasons:
1. The power reserve of the car battery is low, causing the battery protection function of the parking surveillance cable to be triggered, thus cutting off the power of the rearview mirror. To address this situation, drive the vehicle/let it be idle for more than 30 minutes to fully charge the battery. Then, turn off the engine and continue using the time-lapse photography feature; if the battery is aging, please replace it in time.
2. The device may shut down automatically due to excessively high temperatures in order to protect the device. In such situations, place a heat insulation film on the glass and try to avoid parking the car in direct sunlight for a long time in the hot season.
3. If a collision triggers the recording of a parking surveillance video, it will cause the time-lapse photography to be interrupted. After the recording is completed, the time-lapse photography will resume and be stored as a new segment.
Parking surveillance mode supports dual-channel recording, while time-lapse photography video only supports recording with the built-in front camera.
When the parking surveillance function is activated, a 30-second recording is initiated after the vehicle is turned off and a collision is detected. As long as the time-lapse photography function is activated, time-lapse videos will be recorded even after the vehicle is turned off. Neither parking surveillance nor time-lapse photography are possible without a memory card inserted. The recorded videos will not be stored on the device without a memory card.
Note: When correctly installed and connected to the official 70mai parking surveillance cable, this rearview mirror allows you to toggle on/off parking surveillance and time-lapse photography functions in the settings module, regardless of whether a memory card has been inserted. However, if time-lapse photography or parking surveillance are enabled, and the vehicle is turned off without a memory card, the device will shut down instead of entering parking surveillance mode or time-lapse photography.
With its Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, this rearview mirror is able to connect to a smartphone running the 70mai app.Once connected, you may perform the following functions:
- View the live feed from the front and rear cameras on your smartphone- Visit the device's album to browse and download previous recordings and photos
- View and modify the device settings in the smartphone app
- Verify the current firmware version of the device, check for any available updates, and push firmware OTA upgrade packages to the device
- Retrieve device logs for analysis by customer support staff
As soon as you connect your smartphone to the 70mai APP with this rearview mirror, you will be able to view the live feed of the device in real time as the system time will be synchronized with the time on your smartphone.
To manually synchronize the system time of your mobile phone with that of your device, find the 'System Settings' sub-section in the Device Settings section of your phone, and click on the 'System Time' setting item.
In the above example, synchronization of the device's system time with the smartphone's system time is only performed if the difference in system time between the device and the smartphone exceeds 10 seconds. In the case of time differences of less than or equal to 10 seconds, the software system considers it within a reasonable margin of error and will not perform synchronization.
This is because the Wi-Fi signal of the device is affected by various sources of interference. You can download the video to the local album with the APP to solve this problem.
Note: It is recommended to set the video recording duration to 1 minute (the original segmented length of the video file), which allows for faster downloading.
This is due to the high compression coding used in the video. It can occur if the phone does not support H.265 (HEVC) decoding function. Try replaying videos on a newer phone model. This should not be an issue with the entry-level Android phones or Android devices with better performance launched in 2018, iPhone 7 or newer iOS devices.
After the video/photos and other image files have been downloaded from the device to the mobile APP, they are all stored in the '70mai' album in the system album of the mobile phone. You may access and manage these image files in the system album or in the local album of the 70mai APP.
This is because the car runs on normal power, with the cigarette lighter plug supplying power to the rearview mirror and to the dash cam when the function of 'auto power off with continuous inactivity' is disabled. Hence, the rearview mirror does not switch off.
Enable the 'auto power off with continuous inactivity' function and set an appropriate time for 'auto power off with continuous inactivity'.
Note: After enabling the function of 'auto power off with continuous inactivity' for a vehicle that is normally powered, you will need to manually press the power button to turn on the rearview mirror the next time you use it.
This rearview mirror requires a power supply with 5V/2A input, and it is recommended to use official 70mai power supply accessories. If you prefer using a third-party power supply accessory, please make sure to opt for an accessory with power supply specifications that meet the requirements and comply with national safety regulations.
There is a power requirement of 5V/2A for this rearview mirror model. A low voltage power input will cause the startup screen on the device to flicker.
The following are some of the most common causes of this problem:• Using the built-in data USB port of the vehicle to power the rearview mirror (These data interfaces allow external storage devices to be connected to the vehicle system so that it can store media or provide storage space. However, they do not have power supply stability)• Connecting the rearview mirror to the vehicle 's fuse box with a third-party adapter cable of inferior quality.
To avoid the above-mentioned problems, please make sure to power the device using the cigarette lighter plug and power cable, or the 70mai parking surveillance cable (70mai Hardwire Kit UP02).

4.Comes with dual-channel recording dash cam and reverse assist function;
